Road trip to Colorado

hi all. its day four from the road. my phone won't let me capitalize anything...??? well it's already been an adventure. day one went pretty well until we we blew the tire tread off of one of the trailer tires. we spent about an hour in barstow after i decided to replace all of the trailer tires. they had great tread but were five years old. i didn't want to risk another tire problem in the middle of nowhere. we got into kingman at about 930. we got the horses settled and katie was waiting with margaritas. bless her! we were planning to do 700 miles the next day and head straight into westcliffe but after assessing the horses (and ourselves) we dedided to take it easy on day two. we were going to follow katie and al into albequerque but made a last minute decision to head north towards durango. this meant that we had to drive through the navajo reservation. about half way through i saw flashing lights behind me. i knew i wasn't speeding so i wasn't sure what it was about. she pulled us over on a section of road with no shoulder and a steep drop off off to the right of the truck. she asked  for our health papers and neg coggins for the horse, drivers lic, truck reg, and horse registration papers. she detained us for about 30 mins. mardi didn't bring her reg papers so she had to jump thru a few more hoops before we could leave. we finally made it into cortez, co. at about 7pm. we decided to get an early start the next morning and had a fairly uneventful trip into westcliffe, co. there was a big cuttiing at the ranch where we will have our clinic so we took showers and went over to visit lorissa and watch the event. lorissa is doing well and was really happy to see people from home. on sunday we went back over to to the ranch to visit again. the clinic starts this morning. there are going to be a total of six riders. i brought avalonn and gypsy a three year old qh that belongs to mel headrick. looking forward to getting started. when i get home i am going to need an vacation from my vacation!.
